Daniel’s  played at home to Newman and our boy was in fine form 21pts, 13 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block and 3 steals. He shot 7-8 from the field and 7-11 from the charity stripes. He was also aggressive on the board as usual getting 6 of his 13 rebounds from the offensive end. It seems a tough game for Lincoln who came from 40-29 in the first half to send the game into double overtime.

The Lincoln University men’s basketball team jumped out to an early 10-point lead and had a late lead, but could not hold on as Newman defeated the Blue Tigers, 96-89, in double-overtime Saturday afternoon inside Jason Gym.

The Blue Tigers would lead for the final time in the first half at the 5:48 mark following a free throw by junior forward Daniel Armah (Cape Coast, Ghana/Lakeland College) for a 27-25 lead. Armah had a huge game, leading the way with 21 points and 13 rebounds.

The final minutes see-sawed back-and-forth, with the Jets tying the game at 69 with 26 seconds to play, and later took the two-point lead on a layup by William Burdette for the 71-69 Jet lead with 16 seconds to play.

Following a timeout with nine seconds to play, Armah delivered the tying layup with three seconds left to send the game into overtime tied at 71.

Armah continued with the momentum at the start of overtime, as he grabbed a big offensive rebound and not only made the ensuing jumper, but was fouled. He calmly hit the foul shot to give Lincoln the 74-71 lead just 13 seconds into the OT. Final score NEWMAN 96, LINCOLN (MO) 89
